Captured ship: St Peter of Friedrichstadt (or Frederiksstad, Holstein) (master Bartholomew Adrians, otherwise Mewis Adrians).
History: a Holstein ship, bound from Orotava in the Canary Islands to Amsterdam, laden with canary wine, 1100 pieces of eight, and several pieces of plate worth 400 pieces of eight; and also silk, velvet plush, and gold and silver lace worth 900 pieces of eight, removed before the ship was brought into Dover; taken about 8 April 1672 by HMS Falcon (Charles Montagu commanding) and brought into Dover. Some papers were thrown overboard after her capture. See Calendar of State Papers Domestic 1671-1672, p297.
