Description

Captured ship: Peace of Rotterdam, otherwise Vrede (master John Johnson Veldt or Helt [sic: Veth; Jan Veth]. otherwise Giovanni Giovanni Ved).

History: bound from Villafranca (previously Messina then Livorno) to Rotterdam, laden with rice, figs, prunes, capers, wine, silk and indigo, soap and brimstone; in company with other ships, taken on March 1672 in the Smyrna Convoy action.
