Folios 343-344: Peter Rothe, Newcastle upon Tyne. Acknowledges orders to arrange a plan with Captain Jonathan Faulkner of HMS Venus to carry out a general impress both afloat and ashore of the persons mentioned in the press warrants. The plan has been carried out with 240 men being impressed. Reports that Lieutenant Adamson is much hurt by the ill usuage he received at Howden Pans from the carpenters belonging to Mr Hurry's dockyard and that Richard Corby one of his gang was cut and beaten by them in an unmerciful manner. He will use every means in his power to discover the people who were guilty of such outrages.
