The National College for School Leadership was established in 2000. The college changed its name to the National College for Leadership of Schools and Children's Services in September 2009 but reverted to National College for School Leadership on 1 June 2011.
On 1 April 2013 the college merged with the Teaching Agency to become the National College for Teaching and Leadership.
