Sergeant F Shields, Pilot Officer J C Wernham (RCAF), Sergeant W Kerr (RCAF), Flight Sergeant G B Porter (RCAF), Flight Sergeant H Olsen (RCAF), Sergeant W J Forbes: prisoners of war; Flight Lieutenant J A MacLean (RCAF): evaded capture; Halifax W7708, 405 Squadron, enemy action, crew baled out over Zaltbommel, Holland during an operational flight over Essen, Germany, 9 June 1942.
[Wernham participated in the 'Great Escape' from Stalag Luft III on the night of 24/25 March 1944.]
