Description

Folios 401-402: James Young, London. Encloses a letter from the senior Lieutenant of HMS Unicorn and reports that having lost two bower cables within a short time owing to the copper being much worn hopes that their Lordships will order HMS Unicorn to be docked for one tide to repair these defects.

Folios 403-403A. [?], HMS Unicorn, First Lieutenant, 3 February 1798 to Captain James Young. Advises that the Carpenter has reported that the copper under the bower on both sides is much worn and cannot be repaired without docking.
