Folio 76. Fransisco de Caseres to [James] Vernon. He would like to know whether the King has any notice of the Jewish merchants being arrested for entering goods at the Customs House as free denizens, and whether their patents are still in force or should they take new ones? And as for the French merchants previously mentioned, they are in custody and told him they have sent a petition to the King. He ultimately asks for the enlargement of Mr Godiah, a friend of his who is naturalized and a freeman of London.
