(1) 'A copy of the instrument William Symons, clerk, was forced to sign before he could be admitted to bail', concerning his licence to run a public school at Helston, Cornwall. Witnessed by Timothy Shute and William Bedford. (2) 'A brief and true account of some of the many hardships and sufferings of William Symons, clerk', outlining a private argument about the rights of the Hanoverian succession, and a grievance with the mayor, Mr Robinson. (3) 'A Brief state of the case of William Symons, clerk, as it now stands between his diocese and him', mentioning: his grammar school at Cullompton, Devon; Lancelot Blackburn [Bishop of Exeter] 1716 to 1721; 'his Lordship's chaplain Doctor Stewart'; and Mr Trevanion.
