Part 1, Folio 151.
A brief memorandum, adding to a previous statement by an unknown deponent: 'Upon further recollection says he was told by several of his acquaintances in Dunkirk [France] that the last intended expedition from them was to have been perpetrated by coming up the River Thames making themselves masters of the Tower [of London], setting the City of London on fire and seizing his Majesty's person with other personages of this kingdom in order to place the pretender [James Francis Edward Stuart] (frequently called there King of England) or his son on the throne which expedition they said was frustrated by contrary winds wherein some said they had a great number others that they had about five thousand men lost and that this now intended expedition against England is likewise in favour of the pretender'.
