Request from Lord Stanhope for 'le Sir Malcom gentleman', to be given permission to come back to his home in Scotland to die peacefully. Malcom has been attainted of high treason following the [Jacobite] rebellion of 1715, but he has never been a soldier - he is seventy years old, almost blind, and deaf. Endorsed: 'Mr Malcolm', and 'George I'.
