A petition concerning 'my affair', and seeking to be appointed the Collector of Customs at Rhode Island, or some other port, mentioning that the present collector, Mr Tassall, is a resident of Havana [Cuba] and wants to 'farm it out'. Seeks a recommendation to Sir Robert Walpole [Chancellor of the Exchequer from 1725 to 1742). [Dated from Hubert Tassell's appointment until replacement at death].
