Description

Part 1, Folios 120-121. From James P. To Duke of Newcastle.

A petition for relief from somebody who has 'sustained losses by sea in merchandizing', and is now in the Marshalsea, Dublin [Ireland]; with a certificate from the mayor, aldermen, sheriff and burgesses of Carrickfergus. Mentions Archibald Hutchison, Little Brook Street, Grosvenor Square, [London, Middlesex] and his relation Reverend Stewart; late governor [Richard] Kane of Port Mahon [Minorca] who is also a relation; and Robert Gardiner, the 'Great Agent'. [Dated from the end of Kane's governorship to Newcastle's dismissal].
