The petition for discharge of Robert Scarisbrick, John Ashton and John Gregson, prisoners in Newgate, after being charged, in Lancashire, with High Treason [as Preston Gentlemen, Jacobite Rebellion, 1715]. The petitioners state that they were overseas when their outlawry was pronounced, but that they surrendered themselves to the Lord Chief Justice, Baron Parker, on 23 July [?1716]. Endorsed: 'Not granted'. [Dated as per Norwich Gazette 15 March 1718, at SP 35/11/50b].
