Part 1, Folio 82. From John Streete. To Joseph Addison.
Petition of John Streete, who served under the command of General [Francis] Nicholson in the expedition to Nova Scotia as secretary at war and deputy judge advocate until October 1710, to Secretary of State Joseph Addison. He has never had half pay or any other considerations for his services and sufferings, and now asks for a special warrant to appoint him extraordinary or probationary landwaiter (as was done for Adam Browne and Michael Arnold in 1703 at £40 per annum). Mentions also Joseph Jekyll (his wife's uncle], Charles Peers (late Lord Mayor), his own uncle Thomas Streete and Mr [James] Stanhope.
