Petition of John Dixon, a freeman of the town of Lancaster, zealous Protestant and loyal to King George I, who had to leave his habitation, employment and family because his life was threatened by the [Jacobite] rebels. He has been reduced 'to the most pinching necessity' and asks Lord Viscount Townshend for his assistance in presenting his petition to His Majesty.
