Part 2, Folio 81. To King George l.
Petition of Thomas Guenault former paymaster of one of the four great lotteries under Sir Andrew Chadwick. When the lotteries were moved to the South [?Sea Company], Lord Stanhope promised that he would be found another place but despite his multiple solicitations he never heard back from anyone. Guenault is now asking if he could be given either another position or some provision. He says he worked for Princess Sophia and for the King in the first year of his reign and mentions Mr de Bernstorff [Andreas Gottlieb Freiherr von Bernstorff], Madame La Raugrave, the Earl of Oxford , Mr [Robert] Walpole, and Mr de Robethon.
