Memorial giving an account of his military service in Spain, Portugal and Scotland during which he incurred a great many debts; that in recognition of his services he was recommended by the late Duke of Marlborough for the governorship of Barbados but which was given to Lord Belhaven and praying for preferment. He mentions Lord Paston, Brigadier Stanwix, Lord Galway, the Honourable Mr Bellenden, Mr Holland, the Duke of Argyle and Lord Cadogan.
