Petition. That, as detailed, she advanced large sums of money to her son the late Earl of Forfar to help him purchase his regiment and pay his expenses as Envoy-Extraordinary to the Court of Prussia; that it was promised in the King's name just before her son's death from wounds received at the battle of Dumblain [Dunblane otherwise known as Sheriffmuir], that she should be reimbursed these sums. She prays that these promises may be fulfilled.
