Part 2, Folios 27-28. From Charles Burrows. To Lords Justices.
Petition that Captain Thomas Jacobs of HMS Diamond accused Burrows of intending to inform the governor of Port Royal, Jamaica of the prohibited goods aboard the ship and thereafter subjected Burrows to such ill-treatment (as is described) that he was forced to escape at Long Island, New York being in fear of his life. He has been entered in the books as 'run' and all his wages stopped. He prays for justice. John Durell, Mate of HMS Diamond 'and a favourite of Captain Jacobs' is mentioned.
