Petition outlining his military career from the taking of Buda [1686] to his service in Spain and praying that 'in your great goodness and charity to your old Spanish officers' Stanhope will obtain for him the King's Sign Manual that he will be given the first vacancy as lieutenant being 'one of the oldest subalterns in Britain'.
