Part 2, Folio 12. To Charles, Viscount Townshend.
Petition 'of the poor sufferers belonging to the Earl of Donegall's Regiment of Foot in Spain' that each has a certificate signed by the Regiment's Major that they have 'a just right to the two years' clothing that they have paid for and was by the Lord Galway's order given to a Spanish battalion'. They are 'few in number and the amount involved is small and they have waited a long time in a poor starving condition, the third part of them are in gaol for want of the money to pay their creditors'. They pray that their case be given 'serious' consideration and Townshend be pleased to dispatch them [?the money].
