Part 2, Folio 11. To Charles, Viscount Townshend.
Petition 'of the poor sufferers belonging to the Earl of Donegall's Regiment of Foot in Spain'. They delivered many petitions to the King, Townshend, the Secretary at War and the Court of General Officers and were told by the latter that the money due to them is a Crown debt since when they have petitioned both the King and Townshend to no avail. They therefore pray 'for the sake of Almighty God justice may be done to them'. They again beg for an answer 'for Christ's sake that they know if they shall have justice or if they must starve at his Majesty's door for want of what is their just due' and pray for their speedy relief.
