Memorial that he purchased his ensign's commission at the time of the late [Jacobite] rebellion; is now on half pay and prays 'for something better than ensign's commission' in light of his sufferings and services. He mentions the murder of his uncle Colonel Daniel Parke in the Leeward Islands and that his father was the sole means of keeping the French part of St Christopher's [St Kitts] for the British at Utrecht.
