Petition of the Masters and Fellows of University College Oxford [Oxfordshire] concerning a bequest under the will of Doctor John Radcliffe, dated on 13 September 1714, which left the College his manor at Linton and other assets in Yorkshire. The terms include provision for educational overseas travel for two students annually, and the appointment of Wm [William] Bromley as executor. The petitioners seek a decree in mortmain, to allow them to manage the funds with a perpetual advowson, pursuant to a decree in Chancery, dated 30 April, 1716. Endorsed with a referral from J [Joseph] Addison to the law officers for their report. Also endorsed: 'Mr Jodrell'. (1) Attorney-general's report, dated on 20 July 1717.
