Petition for a post of Messenger to be given to her son, or other provision for her family, following the death of her husband, Nathaniel Barlow after quitting a packet boat and joining an open vessel near the French coast. He was taking a dispatch in September 1715 from Mr Secretary Stanhope to the Earl of Stairs, His Majesty's Minister at the Court of France.
