Folios 86-87. From John Baurain. To George I.
Petition to have his name added to the Roll of the Poor Knights of Windsor, following his service in the Army for 43 years, particularly during the wars in Ireland in the time of King William. He has continued to ride for twenty four years as a Gentleman in His Majesty's fourth Troop of Horse Guards, now commanded by Lord Viscount Shannon. He fears being discharded on account of his age of 65 years. Includes copies of Certificate of Service, signed by Colonel Du Cambon, and of his enlisting as a Gentleman in the Troop of Horse Guards under command of the Duke of Argyle. Witnessed by David Campbell.
