Examination of William Flood a soldier born at Lainsborough [Lanesborough], County Roscommon, Ireland. That he was enticed with promises of advancement by one White to desert Colonel Groves's Regiment in Ireland and enlist in the French service where he was in Rooth's [Roth's] Regiment who call themselves the Pretender's bodyguard. He names Captain Horly, Lieutenant Cristy, Magee, Ludwage, Baker, Jno [John] Reagan,Bork, Sullivan, Jones, Welsh, Lieutenant O'hara, Connor, Lieutenant Lastrange, Walter Healy, Batt County and one Coffee, who keeps a house in St Thomas Street Dublin, as those involved in recruiting men for the Pretender. Other people named are Captain Callaghan, Major Cusack, Colonel Arthur, Sergeant Lamb and Colonel Murphy.
