Description

Folio 93. Wm [William] Horsburgh at Mr Thos [Thomas] Caigow's tobacconist bottom of the Haymarket. [Note this appears to be part of a letter] ?Memorandum 'the pay of a surgeon to dragoons is six shillings per day. The medicine money allowed for each regiment of dragoons is £137 some odd shillings per year which is seven shillings and sixpence more per day. The Government finds instruments and two chests of medicines a year for each surgeon. Wm [William] Horsburgh at Mr Thos [Thomas] Caigow's tobacconist bottom of the Haymarket'. [In the top right hand corner is written 'Antwerp' followed by the initials of two messengers, Nathan Carrington and JB [?John Bill].
