Description

Part 2, Folios 42-44. From Ja [James] Vernon. Place: Kensington [Middlesex].

Approval of a Privy Council report on the refusal of some Italian merchants to contribute to the levy for the maintenance of a chaplain at the factory at Leghorn [Livonia] Italy. The report endorses a boycott of business dealings with Philip William Huigans, a subject of H R H the Great Duke, who is refusing to pay and who is encouraging refusal by others. Mentions Signor Pucci, secretary of Tuscany; and Mr [Henry] Newton, envoy at the court of Florence in 1705.
