A letter declaring Thomson's belief that James Cherry was falsely accused of the crime for which he was convicted. (1) An affidavit of Wm [William] Green stating that before his death, Will [William] Claridge had claimed his brother [brother-in-law] was innocent of the charge he had made against him. (2) An affidavit of John Murphy, under-keeper at Newgate [prison, London] claiming that before Claridge's death he claimed Cherry was innocent. (3) An affidavit of John Smith stating that before Claridge's death he claimed Cherry was innocent. (4) An affidavit of James Severe, under-keeper at Newgate [prison, London] stating that Clarrage had claimed Cherry was innocent.
