Petition of the people of Halifax, Yorkshire, seeking letters patent to appoint governors for the Free Grammar School of Queen Elizabeth [Heath Grammar School], there being nearly no governors left living. (1) The petition of Henery [Henry] Gream, of Skircoate [Skircoat], [Yorkshire], stating that he is the sole surviving governor, mentioning the names of those appointed with him who are now deceased: Joseph Wilkin, late Vicar of Halifax; John Batley, and Nathaniel Holden. (2) The report concerning the school's governors from the Attorney and Solicitor General recommending the appointment of governors by the Archbishop of York; and the issuing of a new charter by the Crown.
