Folios 199-200.
Deposition of messenger Samuel Crew reporting that the Duke of Wharton, in Madrid, appears to have been awarded the Order of the Garter by the [Jacobite] 'Pretender' [James Francis Edward Stuart], and that he has been wearing a blue ribbon, and the star sewn on to his black cloak by the tailor, Thomas Dalton. Mentions Wharton being seen by William Quinn, a servant to the British representative in Spain Colonel [William] Stanhope, travelling in a 'half Berlin' [coach] owned by the Duke of Ormond; and the South Sea Company agent, Mr Stratford.
