The manuscript lists the forts and settlements along the western coast of Africa beloning to England, France, the Netherlands, Denmark, Portugal, and Prussia. The 43 locations are listed from north to south, from [Bay of] Arguin [Mauritania] on the 'Gum Caost', at latitude 20 degrees north, to Loango St Pauls [Luanda, Angola; ?Kingdom of Loango] at latitude 10 degrees south. Details of 15 Royal African Company forts and settlements are listed, with an account of the value of the company's African assets, totalling £30,000. Provides information on commercial activities, including the slave trade.
