Applying for 'favour and protection' after having been replaced in the Alienation Office. Mentions his benefactor, Sir William St Quintin. Hoped that Mr Quintin would succeed his uncle, and is 'disgusted' at Mr Rogers for recommending Mr Shepheard to succeed Sir William. Another person suggested to succeed Sir William is the young gentleman Mr Crowle.
