Admiralty's report on the High Court trial for piracy and smuggling Massey v. George Lowther. Massey was charged with seizing a ship named the 'Gamboa Castle' with goods belonging to the Royal African Company, and a brigantine belonging to Boston, and a French sloop. He is described as a 'strange, extravagant, half-witted man..by no means fit for a command.' Names mentioned: Col Whitney, Alexander Thompson, Captain Russell, Chief Mate Dudley. Places mentioned: Jamaica, Gillisse [sic.]
