Information given to Spelman by Mr John Roch, merchant and for many years broker to those concerned in the wool trade in Havre de Grace [Le Havre], regarding the smuggling of wool from England and Ireland to France. Spelman comments 'I do believe the said Roch acquainted me with it out of spite to Mr Leary [an Irish merchant who is now the broker]'.
