Returning thanks for permission to return to [Portugal], requesting £20 for necessities and compensation for his sufferings having been eight days in irons aboard the 'Lyme' man of war and 'lead through the country like a highwayman'; and suggesting that for what he has already done and what he will tell Delafaye he merits a better reward.
