Description

Folio 195. Mr Justice [Thomas] Abney to the Lords Justices. Judge's report on Thomas Sideway otherwise Sidaway capitally convicted at Warwick Assizes of stealing a mare the property of Thomas Jordan of Birmingham [Warwickshire]. Thomas Hodgkins, a prize fighter, and Joseph Bennett are named as witnesses of doubtful character for Sidaway. [Mr Alderman Winterbottom mentioned in the petition served as alderman of the City of London 1746 - 1747].
