Letter from [the Reverend Mr] John Dubordieu at Layton [Essex] on behalf of John Purser who, he writes, 'deserves the worst he can be made to suffer, if for nothing else for being such a fool, as to print so scandalous a paper. But God would have spared even Sodom if five righteous men had been found in it; and here are six poor innocent infants who must be devoted to misery, perhaps eternal as well as present, if this infatuated creature meets with the fate he justly merits'. Mr [George] Gordon is mentioned.
