Petition of Sir Alexander Brand of Brandsfield in North Britain praying that directions be given to the Lords of the Treasury to enquire into the merits of his case for payment of 'the great debt due to him from the Crown' for his services chiefly during the reign of William lll and for relief in such manner as is thought fit. He mentions the Earls of Findlater and Leven, Secretary Johnston and Mr Baylie [George Baillie] of Jerviswood. Endorsed 'No order 12 August 1725'. Two copies.
