He is of the opinion that the Spaniards do not intend, at present, to attack Jamaica, and it is not necessary to replace the man-of-war there. His Majesty's ships in those waters should be ordered to keep as near Jamaica as is consistent with the duty of their station, on pretence of protecting our trade from the ships of the Spanish Garde de Cote.
