Thanking for Caryll's zeal 'in my concern'; expressing his surprise at what Caryll tells him people are saying of him; his fear he 'may have foul play' and that some who he thinks are his friends are not though he believes a great deal of this comes from William Cott [? Cotton]'s uncle. Letter taken out of Mr Caryll's desk by messengers 24 March 1723.
