Description

Part 1, Folios 116-117.

'I will see Mat this afternoon and comfort him with your very generous present, I wish the verses designed as a panygeric upon Mr Berry do not prove hurtful. If the advice of a friend may be taken I look upon it that he should take more care both of the preservation of himself and his papers than writing poetry at this time of day. I spoke to the gentleman at St Bride's about his book he assures me the printer may be trusted as well as you may trust yours R'. Intercepted letter referred to in SP 35/42/72.
