Part 1, Folios 97-98.
Letter from Jos [Joseph] Bell. 'The petition of Curtis's I brought for your approbation he has refused to sign whether it be of himself or by advice I can't tell but find that he and his friends have been with Sir John Jennings who has promised them to apply to my Lord Townshend to pray him to accept the first petition as satisfactory. I thought it proper to acquaint you with it that you may take such measures as you think proper'. Post script 'that which I brought you was such a one as our friends approved on and desired me to do it'.
