Part 2, Folios 57-58. From Robert Elston. To Abraham Elton, Member of Parliament.
Honoured Sir, You may believe that it is with the greatest reluctancy that I am thus obliged to be so troublesome but that now I am obliged to it for that within these last few days I was so taken that my life was despaired of and am likely to lose the use of my limbs, and having now not wherewithal to subsist. I therefore beg the favour to know the Duke of Newcastle's answer whether I am to prepare for a trial or otherwise discharged. I have prevailed with this gentlewoman the bearer to wait once more on your Honour to know your answer'.
