Information of Captain John Vere, of Jacobite plots and the attempt of Robert Douglass to enlist him in the French service. The Duke of Douglass, the Earl of Mar, the Marquis of Tullibardine, General Dillon, Captain Pidgeon, Earl of Stair and John Stuart are mentioned. There is a note that Douglass sometimes goes by the names of Kennedy or Corbett, had a troop in the late [Jacobite] Earl of Derwentwater's at Preston [in 1715], escaped three times, went abroad with the Pretender and was a Gentleman of the Bedchamber while at Avignon.
