That not having heard from Mr Wills [the cypher clerk] Thorpe says if Walpole is pleased to order him to prepare anything for Wills to decypher and will look at it himself, he believes Walpole will think it unnecessary to trouble Wills especially as Walpole will be convinced that Wills 'would in vain attempt to decypher it'.
