Description

Part 2, Folio 16. From [Jacobite prisoner] J [James] Plunket. Place: Tower [of London].

'My head is and has been for some time much out of order which I take to be entirely owing to my long and close confinement and still in irons to walk now and then with my warder on his leads is the sovereign remedy I can have. As such a favour has been granted to prisoners even convicted of high treason I hope you won't deny it'.
