Reporting that warrants have been issued by Colonel Hawker, the deputy Governor of Portsmouth, for the arrest of the seven or eight poachers who have absconded from jail. In a postscript he says he hears 'the prisoners are very hardy and well maintained and from those who received their venison it must be for they are worth nothing themselves'.
