A letter concerning wayleaves [for the transport of coal] through the Walker estate of Mr Liddle and Mr Cotesworth. Mr Sanderson requests the Duke of Newcastle to send a second letter to the Mayor of Newcastle [Matthew Featherstonhaugh] to sway the loyal party and the balance of aldermen on Common Council. The election of mayor is due, and it is Mr [William] Carr's turn to be chosen.
